Hello,
This is a transfer measurement between Behringer ECM8000 and Earthworks M30
Metod:
-The two microphones put side by side with a two microphone clamp (Very close), for measure the transfer between the microphones at same time.
-The two capsules with identical allineate (1mm max error), No set any delay compensation between microphones.
-A noise generator conected to a Speaker (Genelec Speaker). I didn't measured the speaker response, just the diference between microphones with the same stimulus.
-A Dead room
-Captured with a USBPre 1.5 (the two microphones conected at same time in one of the two microphone inputs of the USBPre).
-3 different ECM8000 was tested
The results:
This is the diference of the Behringer vs. Earthworks M30, M30 was a reference signal, ECM8000 Measure signal

Conclusion (Almost for me): the M30 are much better microphone than the ECM8000
Cheers
: Hi All,
: After doing a LAB search on the topic, I would like some opinions on measurement microphones. I have seen some people using the
: Behringer ECM8000, it's a bargain, but will I be able to collect data that is accurate enough for sound system analysis with it? Some people are using the Audix TR-40, which seems like a good choice for a reasonable price. If you are using it, how do you like it?
: I have used the Earthworks M-30 before with SmaartLive, and it seems to be very accurate. Do you think it is better enough to justify the price difference between it and the other two?
: Thanks in advance for your responses.
: Cheers,
: Marc
