: Breaux Bridge Crawfish Fest doing sound for a guitar slinger named CC Adcock. As we're setting up I see the provider has a top cabinet on the ground backstage and is working on it. I called down to him asking if we'er gonna be starting on time and he says yea. So I get the guys set up and get the monitors happnen, and see that he got the top back up on the stack. So I run out to FOH. When I get there I push the BG music up so the band don't blast the crowd right off and notice that something AIN'T  right. I tallk to the kid at the board and it's obvious that he's clueless, just babysitting. So I tell him to go find the provider who has totally disapeared and get him over here. The kid won't leave the board cuz he's been instructed to stay at the board and make sure the "guest engineers don't go in the red". By this time the band is being introduced and I just try to run with it. Sounds like sh*t and I just know something is serious wrong, bad distortion and I'm struggling to just get the vocals and accordian understandable. By the second verse of the first song I turn to the kid and yell at him to get his ass in gear and find the provider before something blows up.....as I get this sentence out my mouth a six foot tongue of flame blows out the stage left top cabinet and all hell breaks loose......

: The kicker is after I get the band packed up and loaded I walk back to the main stage and see the promoter who I've known for years and walk up to talk to him. The provider is talking to him but doesn't see me as his back is to me. As I walk up I hear him telling the promoter that "that damn sound idiot for CC did it, he don't know what he's doing...."
