Hey, Bink. We had all three of these White models at one time and the 4560 was my least favorite of the three. Without officially wringing (as opposed to ringing) it out on the test bench, it simply didn't sound nor feel as good as the 4400s and the 4001s. And when I first came here, the 4560s were in the main processing rack and the guy that I replaced said "Whatever you do, DO NOT use their gain controls!". Naturally, I had to see what this was about, and when I did, the pots made a terrible and very loud stratching sound in the rig. Now I know! So down the line, I called White and asked about this issue and they recommended an update kit that consisted of a new pot and some chips. I installed the update kit and while the pots were nice and clean, the damn thing got noisier! I called White back and when I told the fellow that they got noisier, he said "Yea, it did, didn't it??" Okay, then. We wound up selling all of the 4560s. I still use the 4400s from time to time in a small processing rack and the 4001s are on the shelf awaiting a place to be used, whenever we find one for them.
Why are you testing the Whites anyway, since they are no longer made, if you indeed are since I haven't followed much if this thread (nor any of the others lately, for that matter, which I hope changes as things slow down a bit).
Looking forward to reading about the results, wish I could help.
