: : I think if we are gonna compare analog units and digital units, especially in the monitor chain, we will need to be able to add some time delay to the analog ones just to make it fair.  I'm convinced that adding a few ms delay greatly aids in fighting feedback.  Of course you'll need to guarantee that the delay doesn't color the sound of the analog units.

: Hey, Don, good point. Do you use a delay for your analog EQs regularly or are you just thinking about how the Shootout has some unfair apples-to-oranges comparisons built in? 

: It would be interesting to see a two-channel analog EQ treated both ways: ch.1 is straight and ch.2 is delayed. See which one gives you more GBF.
