No Rane products use companding. You won't find compression (unless it's clearly a feature of the product) nor emphasis anywhere in our line. So if you test for linearity, you'll be testing the conversion system's linearity.

PS - see the link below to a RaneNote on properly testing and specifying various audio measurements.

I'd be surprised if you found emphasis in any product designed after 1990.
